Adult Protective Service Programs
Adult Services Programsdesigned to:
- Assist customers in the maintenance of
self-sufficiency - Assist customers to achieve economic
self-sufficiency - Prevent abuse, neglect & exploitation of
disabled and vulnerable adults - Help avoid unnecessary institutional or
out of home placement
Programs include:
Social Services to Adults: assists elderly, disabled and vulnerable adults
access home and community based long-term care services, equipment & programs.
Adult Protective Services: serves people ages 18 or over who lack the physical
or mental capacity to provide for their daily needs. The purpose is to prevent or
remedy neglect, self-neglect, abuse or exploitation of adults who are unable to protect
their own interests and are at risk of immediate harm to their own person or to others.
In-Home Aide Service: compliments other social service programs by providing
specific services, such as personal care, light housekeeping, laundry & respite care.
Project Home: an adult foster care (family) model program for disabled adults
who cannot live alone. Customers are matched with appropriate licensed assisted living
providers who are recruited and supervised by DSS. The program provides room, board
and assistance with personal hygiene and activities of daily living.
