In-Home Family Services

Specialized Services include:

Continuing Child Protective Services - referrals received via CPS Intake following indicated or unsubstantiated finding of abuse or neglect where children remain at risk.

Family Preservation - serves children at high risk for placement in foster care, providing a greater intensity of services with more frequent home visits.

Triage - involves preventive services aimed at intervening before abuse/neglect occurs, with referrals received from CPS Intake, Multi-Disciplinary / Local Coordinating Council or community.
Note: Triage is unique to Carroll County

Family Services Intake/Services to Families with Children - is a program initiated by a client’s request for assistance.

Child Protective Services Intake - staff complete investigations on open cases and reports received within 3 months of closing.

Parent Aide Services - therapeutic parent aides work with social workers as a team to provide emotional supports & concrete assistance as a service plan.

IHFS Worker Activities include:

  1. Continuously assess family needs,
  2. Monitor children’s safety,
  3. Provide clinical intervention,
  4. Deliver direct services, and
  5. Link the family to appropriate resources in agency or community to reduce factors, which place children at risk.
