DIRECTOR’S REPORT

1999 was another milestone year for the Cecil County Department of Social Services. We have empowered our staff, via our Strategic Plan, using the P=C3 I formula: Performance equals Communication, Collaboration, Creativity, and Information

Among our Strategic Plan accomplishments were creating or establishing the following:

  1. A method for recognizing and rewarding employee accomplishments,
  2. In-house cross-training of staff,
  3. A Peer Committee to address employee concerns and complaints,
  4. New liaisons and memoranda of understanding with the Board of Education and Sheriff’s Department,
  5. A revised local policy handbook,
  6. An in-house Information and Technology unit,
  7. Liaison with the University of Delaware to analyze and improve our operation,
  8. A satellite office in Cecilton,
  9. An inter-agency Child Advocacy
    Center,
  10. Collaboration with community
    leaders to establish a Boy’s and
    Girl’s Club.
