SERVICES
To protect vulnerable children and adults from abuse and neglect.
- 1378 Child Protective Services referrals/771 investigations conducted.
- 11 adoptions finalized.
- 85 high-risk children served by Families Now and Intensive Family Services.
- 100 customers served per month by Social Services to Adults.
- 80 customers a month served by In-Home Aide Services.
- Implemented "Generalist" case management services. One social worker provides three direct service programs for families and adults: Child Protective Services (CPS); Services to Families with Children (SFC); Social Services to Adults.
- Child Advocacy Center: The Cecil County Child Advocacy Center is a multidisciplinary approach to the investigation, prosecution and treatment of child sexual abuse cases, severe physical abuse cases and child fatalities. This center is currently located in the DSS. The Department has taken the lead in making a separate facility a reality.
- Cecilton Satellite: The Cecilton satellite office has been in operation for one year. Our presence has been welcomed by the community and has enabled the department to offer Generalist services as well as developing FIA services and projected Domestic Violence services.
