Applications for assistance may be requested and filed at the Somerset County Department of Social Services, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Applications for cash, food and medical assistance programs may also be mailed in or filed electronically at marylandsail.org

Interviews for these programs are held daily. Applicants should be prepared to present identification, birth certificates, social security numbers, verification of all earned ( ex. last 4 pay stubs ) and unearned income (ex. SSI, SSB, VA or contributions from others ) and household expenses ( ex. rent/mortgage, utilities ). Other appropriate verifications may be requested at the time of the interview.
