Access and Visitation Program

Program Available in: Calvert County, Carroll County, Charles County, Frederick County, Harford County, Somerset County, St. Mary's County, Wicomico County & Worcester County.

Maryland is recognized as a leader in providing Access and Visitation Services. The Access and Visitation program supports and facilitates non-custodial parents’ access to and visitation of their children. Grants are awarded to non-profit and community-based organizations and to the Family Court Divisions of the Circuit Court. Services provided include mediation, counseling services, parent education, development of parenting plans and guidelines, visitation enforcement, and development of guidelines for visitation and alternative custody arrangements. The program is funded through a grant provided by the Federal Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Federal Office of Child Support Enforcement. The goal of the program is to increase Non-Custodial Parent (NCP) Parenting Time with Child(ren). The program supports the Department's MFR goal of assisting families to achieve their maximum level of personal and economic independence.
