All About Adoption

Adoption Services develops permanent families for children who cannot live with or safely reunite with their birth parents or extended birth families. Services include study and evaluation of the children and their needs, adoptive family recruitment, development and selection.

A feature has been added to the Maryland Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) "Waiting Children’s Photos and Information" section. In addition to looking at the children at random, you may also search for a particular type of child by entering specific criteria. For example, you may enter a specific age or an age range, sex, and special needs the child might have that you are willing to accept. You may also indicate if you are interested in a sibling placement. The search feature will help identify possible matches with children more easily.
MARE also has a supplementary Abbreviated Listing for All Children that consists of a very brief description of all children, both legally free and not legally free, who have a permanency plan of adoption and are without identified family resources.

Maryland children are photolisted locally on MARE and nationally on Adopt US Kids.

Adopt US Kids formerly known as Faces of Adoption:
America's Waiting Children!

Adopt US Kids, an initiatire of the Children's Bureau that was developed and is being operated by the National Adoption Center (NAC). Adopt US Kids brings waiting children "online" through photographs and biographies. A wealth of information is also available to help you learn more about adoption.
